SAFEGUARDING AT TRINITY WITH PALM GROVE
Trinity with Palm Grove (TPG), is a Local Ecumenical Partnership Church, combining United Reformed
and Methodist Churches, although for historical reasons we follow the Safeguarding protocols of the
Methodist Church.
Safeguarding is an integral part of our life and mission at TPG and we take a whole church approach. This
means that we are all responsible for ensuring that children and vulnerable adults are protected in a safe
and secure environment. The Church Safeguarding Policy is renewed and updated annually, with copies
displayed in the Church and sent to the Mersey URC Synod and the Methodist Wirral Circuit.
We have a Church Safeguarding Officer, appointed by the Church Council, and a Circuit Safeguarding
Co-ordinator appointed by the Wirral Circuit, both of whom ensure that good practice is followed in all
aspects of TPG church life. We follow the Safer Recruiting Protocols in the appointment of all members
who hold positions of responsibility. This includes taking up references, providing the prescribed initial
training, necessary follow-up courses and, where required, ensures that Disclosure and Barring Service
certification is obtained and renewed as appropriate.
TPG is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as required under the 2018 Data
Protection Act.
If you are concerned about any aspect of Safeguarding at TPG please contact the Safeguarding Officer
